Begin to be now what you will be hereafter - William James. A quote that I truly believe in.

According to me, Professional futures is all about finding out the hereafter, to what employment looks like in the area of Fashion and Textiles in the near future.

In the near future, employment in the fashion and textile sector is poised for dynamic evolution driven by technological innovation, sustainability imperatives, and shifting consumer behaviors. As digitalization continues to reshape the industry landscape, professionals skilled in 3D modeling, virtual reality, and data analytics will be in high demand, revolutionizing design, production, and marketing processes. Moreover, heightened awareness of environmental and social issues is propelling a surge in sustainable practices, creating opportunities for roles focused on eco-friendly materials, ethical sourcing, and circular economy initiatives. The trend towards customization and personalization is fostering a resurgence in artisanal craftsmanship, while the rise of e-commerce and omnichannel retailing is fueling demand for experts in digital marketing and customer experience management. Embracing these changes and cultivating skills in emerging areas will be pivotal for individuals seeking to thrive in the dynamic and increasingly interconnected world of fashion and textiles.

Gandhi famously expressed, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." As the pace of global transformation accelerates, adapting to these changes becomes an ongoing endeavor. Inspired by this sentiment, I am embarking on my MA project with a focus on sustainability - Mayhem (Bringing stability to chaos.) My initiative involves unraveling pre-loved jumpers and repurposing them into entirely new garments. Along this journey, I am confronted with numerous questions: How can I establish a sustainable brand? Is true sustainability attainable? What career pathways await me in the long run? Despite these uncertainties, I recognize that answers will unfold gradually, and I eagerly await the insights gained through the process.
